In the second quarter of 2024, the dining and restaurant app category saw varied performance across the board on the unified platform in the US. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the trends in downloads and weekly active users for these leading apps.
McDonald's Offers and Delivery experienced a fluctuation in downloads, starting at around 4.9K, dipping to 4K, and then peaking at 5.3K towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from 31K to 29K, but ended the quarter with a rise back to around 31K.
Burger King® Uruguay also saw its downloads vary, with an initial 2.6K that escalated to 3.7K by the end of Q2. The weekly active users remained relatively low, starting at 149 and experiencing a modest increase to 164.
Zomato: Food Delivery & Dining had a steadier trend, with downloads beginning at 320 and showing a gradual increase to 343. The app’s weekly active users started at 7.4K, dipped slightly mid-quarter, and then rose to approximately 7.7K.
TheFork - Restaurant bookings observed a more varied download pattern, with initial downloads at 182, a dip to 100, and a spike to 348 in the latter half of May before ending the quarter at 187. Weekly active users saw a significant jump from 401 to 560 in May, then settled to 478 by the end of June.
Subway Trinidad, the smallest app in the group, had downloads ranging from 109 to 178, with a closing figure of 147. Active user data for Subway Trinidad was not provided.
